albert watson
to call
albert watson
prolific
would nearly be an insult
if you have
ever looked at vogue,
rolling stone, time magazine
a dizzying array of celebrity portraits,
fashion photography or
stood in the lobby of a cinema...
(and all with
the sight of only one eye)
you've seen his work.
for me
he is one of
fashion photography's
unsung heros
we've all seen his work
but more than likely
we just didn't know it.

come saturday night

the whole world is a garden
it was
tree trimming time
again recently
and now that we
suddenly have an entire
years worth of
sunlight in the garden
i've been looking for
inspiration for updating
the ground cover and
sun friendly plants to
spruce up the place
as much as i love the
lush vibrancy of grassy green hues
we're beginning to leaning more toward
a small neutral pebble and clover
to cover our small space...
less water and also
considering kiki is using
the space much more frequently
due to the prednisone
the doctor has her on
to treat the lymphoma
i don't think the grass
would stand a chance
what do you any of you
use in your garden?
friendly ideas?

miss kiki
my sweetest friend
and love of my life
was recently diagnosed
with stage 1 lymphoma
she will be 14 and a half
soon and although we all knew this
time was approaching in some form or another
it didn't really soften the blow
when we received the news
we have decided to forgo any sort of aggressive treatment
and instead are opting for a more natural approach
with massage, herbs and supplements to keep her as comfortable
as possible in the time she has remaining
last week we ventured over to see a set of doctors
at a natural rehab center in santa monica
who kindly informed us they could treat her with
acupuncture and water therapy if we could pony up
nearly three thousand dollars for two months of treament...
oh los angeles sometimes you are just too much
if anyone has leads on
a canine chiropractor
or acupuncturist on the east side
(that is somewhat reasonable)
we would love to know them.

this song
has been
looping in
my head for
hours
thank goodness
though
because
it replaced
the bangles eternal flame
...started out charming
and a bit funny at 7am
but 12 hours later
i really wanted to
find susanna hoffs
and give her a good tap
upside the head
here you go...
you can have it now

marimekko...what would the world be without you
oh marimekko
you are just too cool
if you've got
some spare cash
1st dibs
has an
amazing
capsule collection
available
from an avid collector
(some even with original
hang tags &
sales receipts)
to celebrate
the 60th anniversay
of the finnish design house
hurry now
by the looks
of it
everything's
being scooped up
by those with
deeper pockets than mine.
